<itunes:summary>How to Be Charismatic
Do you ever talk to strangers?

Do you only notice people you think may be able to get you laid or paid?

And what is the best way to deal with guys who are shit talkers or haters?

This week, we’re talking with Jordan Harbinger from the Pickup Podcast about how YOU can bust out of your social conditioning and unlock the charisma within.
In this episode:

	Why charismatic guys rule
	How to become outgoing
The benefits of having good social skills
The dangers of judging others to be more or less valuable than you
Why some guys are submissive or constantly apologizing
Why some guys are haters or shit-talkers
Why some guys are competitive, constantly comparing themselves to others
Why some guys are naturally cooperative
How to inspire others to want to help you
A simple practice for getting out of your social shell

About Jordan Harbinger
Jordan Harbinger has always had an affinity for Social Influence and Dynamics, but first became aware just how valuable these skills were when his grades left him just short of the acceptance requirements for University Of Michigan School of Law. Jordan, unwilling to accept the possibility of being unable to pursue his career of choice, immediately and effectively talked his way into law school. It was then that his fascination and curiosity with the power of Social Influence was born.

It was while attending law school that Jordan also began his education in Social Dynamics and his search for the best in the field. In 2006 he started Pickup Podcast, a Relationship Advice and Social Dynamics interview podcast with Co-Host AJ Harbinger. With the following garnered from Pickup Podcast, Jordan began coaching students in his free time on an on-call basis. It was during these sessions that he realized the substantial need for progression and innovation in the industry.

After graduating in the top of his class, Jordan went on to New York City to pursue his dream of being a Wall Street lawyer. He was accepted at a top-tier firm, but his passion for Social Dynamics still flourished. His search soon brought him to Johnny Dzubak & Alex Weber, two efficacious Social Dynamists. Shortly thereafter, Jordan became even more engrossed in the world of Social Dynamics and saw a strong need for integrity and candor in the industry. It was then he quit his job as a lawyer and founded The Art of Charm. In 2008 SiriusXM Satellite Radio approached Jordan with an offer to host a weekly show on a trial basis. The show was an unequivocal success and Game On became a permanent fixture at SiriusXM, broadcast all over the North American continent.

Jordan’s business sense, extensive knowledge of the industry and contemporary approach to coaching make him one of the best and most sought after dating coaches in the world. These qualities have also led him to receive some of the highest recognitions in the industry of Social Dynamics.

Here’s another recent email exchange I had with a New Man listener. Enjoy!

(Keep in mind, English is not his first language)

“Dear Tripp,

Great contribution to help turning more men into ´New men´. I am definitely on my way, and listening to your interviews is always a source of positive energy and life force.

I just accepted a job offer, returning to a corporate career, I am moving to another place, the middle east.

A complete new environment, new job, but also good opportunity to make some additional changes.

I have accomplished a lot in my life, however, one of the things I am having trouble with is connecting to other men, for friendship, in a profound way, let´s say, finding other ´new men´, without the superficial macho talk. I have never been the ´teamsports´ type of guy, and I feel I have missed out a bit on this ´brotherhood´, go out with the boys, etc… I have wife and family, but I miss a connection to other men.

I live my life to the full, like adventure, and therefore I change my life´s direction about every 5 years, including moving to a very different place in the world.… Click here to read the rest...

I just had this exchange with a New Man listener. Enjoy.

He writes:

“I’m a new listener as of December 2009. I love it. I have been reading professional development and self help books and audio for the last 2 years.

I would like to hear a show about marriage commitment. whether to marry or not. I love my girl, and I want to marry her soon. But I have a strong sex drive and sometimes my mind wonders. Is this normal for someone who genuinely loves someone? Do I need help?”

My response:

Thanks for writing — it’s great that you’re enjoying the shows!

Marriage commitment and any kind of relationship commitment is a solid idea for a topic, too. I dealt with this for a LONG time in my previous relationship and I coach guys on this stuff, too.

I don’t have the complete picture for you, but from experience I don’t believe that a guy’s sex drive or admiration of other women should suddenly cease to exist. It’s not an indicator whether or not he loves his mate.

The only help I would suggest would be to learn how to “own your desire”. Good news is that… Click here to read the rest...

“Hello Tripp – I have been a listener of ” The New Man” podcast for a while and I recommend to all of my friends, for about a year now, I have developed a passion for self improvement literature, and that has dramatically changed my life and the way I see things. One of the consequences of this changes is this beautiful girl I have been with for several months now, and she is the reason I am writing to you now. She is pretty, she is sweet, she has a good percentage of everything I always seeked for in a woman although I wish she was more self motivated and ambitious, she smokes, what I hate, she denies to go to the gym ( she is skinny ) and she has an addiction for sweets, If I am to build a lifetime relationship, I want someone who works hard for their health and someone who sees money and business in a smarter way than she does. I have bought her and Ipod and have been trying to get her into some self improvement stuff, but its not working. Can you help me out and give

… Click here to read the rest...

Coaching with Tripp

I get TONS of emails from guys who love The New Man Podcast but can’t seem to bridge the gap between what they’re hearing on the show and what they’re actually living.

Many guys want to:

Discover their passion or purpose

Find more satisfaction in their work and personal lives

Make some positive changes without upsetting their family or financial situation

Get over a hump they’ve been dealing with for months or maybe years

Look back on their life and have no regrets

What’s amazing to me is that most guys will fumblef**k around their challenges for years — wasting precious time, energy and money without ever achieving the success they really want.

It’s obvious that this “one foot in, one foot out” way of doing things is way more draining and costly than just putting both feet in.

———–

So why do guys hold back, settle for less and “play-it-safe”?

Two reasons:

(1) They don’t know WHAT to do:

I’ve found that guys want specifics, a plan, a path. ABC’s, 123’s. Nuts and bolts. The Magic-Formula. The How-to Manual. Walking into uncertainty is a no-no.

(2) It’s too risky:

What if it doesn’t work? Guys… Click here to read the rest...

In this episode:

Don’t be afraid of your woman’s storm
How to go through something hard and come out okay
Why am I in this relationship?
Life with a woman is about storm
	Storming is about being passionate
Do you want a passionate woman or a stepford wife robot?
Storming is to test a man, to see if he’s trustable
The storm does not mean something is wrong
Do not buckle to the storm
If you buckle, she will take over your role in the relationship or look for some way to fill it
It’s not about winning a fight or dominating the scenario
She’s entitled to her response and it has virtually nothing to do with you
Don’t take on her feelingsAnd don’t defensively posture
	Stay curious
We want to know that in our relationships, we can say anything
Most common belief: I’m the only one that has to deal with this
Don’t try to do it alone
Get help with big problem areas -- find a therapist, coach or counselor
Trust that your relationship can stand the test and actually grow
Look at your partner as a team member, not as your opponent

“If I could just talk to her about this, things would be better...”
Fear that even speaking about stuff will set off a fight
Can’t talk about sex, money, health issuesHow to discuss taboos
Speaking your desire is the biggest topic
Many people struggling being straight up with what they want in relationship
It’s a dealbreaker that things can’t even be discussed
We imagine how our partners will respond -- not based in reality
Dating women with kids from a previous marriage
It’s not okay to speak your truth
Quit assuming you know what your partner is going to say or do
Joking “around” the subject doesn’t help you -- it hurts you
It’s not the topic that she’s rejecting, it’s how you’re approaching it
Not owning your desire has you come off as creepy, untrustworthy
If she can’t trust how you’re speaking about something, she can’t trust how you may do it
Fallacy: “You’re responsible for my being satisfied”
Drill down and get clear about why you desire this
Make it right for having this in your life
Don’t let your shame stuff it for you
Don’t make it that she’s not okay with it
Deep down, are you okay with it?
If you’re scared or timid -- be straight with that, bring that to the conversation
The danger of cutting off or not owning your desire
Cutting off what you want makes you less trustworthy
She may not like the content but she’ll trust you more
You have a choice in every situation -- you just may not like the options
What’s more important to you? To live a lie or to in integrity
Being in relationship with a whole person

About Stuart Davis, Musician, Artist

With eleven full-length albums to his credit, Stuart Davis has carved out a unique wavelength in the musical spectrum. Taking the topics of God, sex, and life and death, and crafting them into inimitable pop songs with lyrical flair and unforgettable hooks, Stuart continues to be one of the great, undiscovered singer/songwriters around.

In addition to his musical brilliance, Stuart is becoming something of a cultural force. With the support of devoted fans, in 1999 Stuart started his own record company, Dharma Pop Records (first called Post Apocalyptic Records), through which he has released four albums to date ("Bright Apocalypse", "Stuart Davis 2001", "The Late Stuart Davis", and the recent "Bell"). The same fan base has formed its own divinely mad community. These "Punk Monks" help promote Stuart's shows, run Stuart Davis websites, and generally spread the word of what has come to be known as Post Apocalyptic Punk Folk, or what we might simply call Integral Pop.

The multifarious Davis is also a published author, having contributed to the book Radical Spirit (New World Library). And he's a fictional character too, appearing in Ken Wilber's novel Boomeritis (Shambhala). His series of video road journals are a regular part of the Integral Naked website, a multimedia doorway to the world of integral awareness. Armed with one camera, two guitars, and multiple personalities, Stuart introduces us to the bizarre and beautiful world of life as a nomadic mystic. If that weren't enough, Stuart is forming his own actual language, called "IS." (For a taste of IS, listen to Stu's album "Bell".) In the moments when Stuart is not criss-crossing the country on tour, he lives in Boulder, CO, with his wife, Marci, and their daughter, Ara Belle, freshly manifest from the bardo realm.</itunes:summary>

This week we’re talking with Ken Wilber, world-renown Integral philosopher about the evolution of men’s and women’s roles in our society.

Ken shows us how our current disagreements over equality between the sexes actually stemmed from old school tools and “little things” like pregnancy.

Ken also talks about how we’re all influenced greatly by not just technology but our personal beliefs and the pressures of society.

We're not talking about how to pick up women here, we're talking about something deeper.

What is behind our sex drive and what is our sexual energy all about besides ejaculation?

Men tend to look at sexual energy as frustration, something to be fixed...

And as quickly as possible.

Men train themselves at a young age to relieve sexual energy as fast as possible, instead of cultivating and using sexual energy to invigorate their lives.

Women tend to experience sexual energy differently, even using different words to describe sexual feelings. Where men talk about "sexual frustration" women speak of the same pleasurable feelings as "juicy" or "alive."

Sandor encourages us to see this energy not as something to avoid, but something we should honor as our very life essence. He invites us to learn to be with strong energetic sensation and practice cultivating and holding sexual energy.

Why is Viagra the best selling drug in the country?

Often we can be very dissociated during sex, perhaps fantasizing about someone else or generally checking out altogether.

Most of us would rather take a pill than truly look inside ourselves to discover what may be getting in the way of our sexual desire.

Dr. Gardos points out that most men don't know what is possible with orgasm because we don't know how to be with intense sexual energy.

At the highest levels, sex can become a pathway to deep spiritual states...a very direct route, Dr Gardos says.

So where is the average guy to start on this path of sexual self-discovery?

Dr. Gardos suggests finding community, locally or online and begin to take in and share information. This can be tough at first but there are resources out there for men willing to take a loo

This is not another goal that has to be met or an achievement we need to reach, but an opportunity for us to know ourselves better and live more fully because of it.

Do you feel like you constantly have to compromise your authenticity to avoid conflict with your partner?

We have, and we're learning that it doesn't have to be that way.

In this episode we're talking with psychotherapists Alyson Schwabe and Reuvain Bacal, relationship experts and specialists in women's and men's issues. They let us in on something the therapists call 'differentiation' and what we think of as 'the opposite of a shitty relationship.'

Listen as we learn what it looks like to lack differentiation and learn some techniques for how to get to a healthier relationship.
