In this episode of The New Man Minute, Tripp Lanier talks about how you can overcome your fear of failure.

What if Luke Skywalker didn’t sack up and “Tarzan” his way over the gap? What if he actually had sex with his sister? (That’s a whole ‘nother story)

Here’s a powerful, quick tip for shifting your perspective towards fear and failure.

Thanks Tripp. Always a good kick in the ass. I’ve been trying the no woman diet on my own. Didn’t have to money to go with the AMP guys but took the concepts and ideas and have been trying on my own. It’s hard, real hard when a pretty girl comes up to you. But I come home to this video and it rings true, came at the right time. Things are hard at first, but stick with it and it’ll become better. A little effort never hurt. Look forward to the next podcast.

Right on. It seems obvious, but most of us are disillusioned whenever resistance shows up. Learning how to expect it — and prepare for it — means we can keep on truckin’ instead of getting stuck on the side of the road.

So, what have you guys done to help yourselves get through “the dip”? What works for you?

    Hey Tripp,

As always, I like your delivery and message.

When I talk to guys that want to lose weight, I tell them three things when they are in the sagging middle of success:

    1. Difficulties are not failure. Difficulties are meant to teach you how to succeed on an ongoing basis. Just “bag the learning.”

    2. Don’t believe that you are your failure. Failure is not a character assessment.

    3. Look at one feeling you have right now about your failure and ask what belief is making you feel that way. It usually is not the “reality” of the situation that is making you feel any one way. It is the belief. Change it on the spot.

Keep up the good work. I continue to promote you.

BTW, I just realized something VERY important. If Luke had wanted to have sex with Leia, his sister. She would’ve been a SILF.

    SILF sounds like SITH.

    Coincidence? I think not…

  7. TheNewMan says:

Luke was one of those cats from Southern Tatooine. LOL

This is a good one. It really is important to keep perspective and I like that “U” curve analogy – nice visual.

One thing that I’ve found to work for me, when learning something new, is to enjoy the process and appreciate the things that ARE working for me, however small. I think the hardest step is that first one – then things work themselves out from there. And whatever the outcome, for better or for worse there’s always a lesson to be learned from going after something that you want.

So, the big take aways and reminders for me about this piece are:

    1) Face your fear of failure by taking action, and

    2) When you get frustrated or freaked out that things aren’t going the way you had planned, take a step back from the tree and check out the forest.

    Thanks again, Tripp!!

    Well said, Otono!

  10. You might want to fail, you can expect to fail, it’s always a part of the steadily building strategy, a natural part of the best way we individuals discover, and the only method we certainly learn. Failure is definitely executing a thing the wrong manner. We might ‘ve got nine variables appropriate even so the tenth inappropriate resulting in our plan failing. Using this method you’ll be able to conquer the fear of failure.
